# Website traffic history: Similarweb + Dealroom

```
GET https://fetchapi.co/api/v1/web/traffic-history?domain=<domain>[&pro=1]
header: x-api-key: gw_...
```

One call returns a site's monthly visits for as many months as can be verified, **all of it Similarweb data**, with
the source of every month labelled. Allow 60 s (90 s with `pro=1`).

## The two sources, and how they differ

| | Similarweb | Dealroom |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Similarweb's own estimate of monthly visits | Dealroom's company profiles show **Similarweb's** monthly visits (its `similarwebChart`) |
| History | latest **3 months** (`pro=1`: exact **6 months**) | **years**: stripe.com 2014→, kalshi.com 2018→, polymarket.com 2020→ |
| Precision | exact (130,128,790) | rounded to 2 significant figures (130,000,000) |
| Breadth | visits **and** traffic sources, countries, engagement (and with the other jobs: referrers, keywords, audience) | **visits only** |
| Coverage | any site Similarweb tracks, subdomains too | only companies Dealroom profiles (funded startups, larger companies); none for many small sites |
| Reliability | the reference | matches Similarweb within 3% when its chart is current (stripe.com, polymarket.com, kalshi.com, 2026-10-18), but some charts are stale (pikkit.com ends 2024) or broken (elevenlabs.io shows "170") |

Because Dealroom's numbers are Similarweb's, the two join into one line: Similarweb for the recent months, Dealroom for
the years before. The endpoint only joins them after checking: Dealroom is **accepted** when every month it shares with
Similarweb is within 15%, and **rejected** otherwise.

## The answer

- `history[]`: `{ month, visits, source }`, oldest first. `source`:
  - `similarweb`: Similarweb's latest 3 months, exact.
  - `similarweb_pro`: the Similarweb Pro report's exact 6 months (only with `pro=1`).
  - `dealroom`: Dealroom's copy of Similarweb for older months, rounded.
- `dealroom.status`:
  - `accepted`: the chart agrees with Similarweb, and `dealroom.check` lists each shared month and its difference.
  - `rejected`: disagrees, or is too stale to check. Only Similarweb's months are returned.
  - `not_found`: no Dealroom profile for the domain.
  - `no_chart`: a profile but no traffic chart.
- `similarweb`: the latest month's traffic sources (direct, search, social, referral, mail, paid), top countries, bounce
  rate, pages per visit, time on site.
- Cost: ~$0.006 (Similarweb $0.0003 + Dealroom ~$0.006); `pro=1` adds ~$0.03.

## How to use it in a report

1. Call `web/traffic-history?domain=<site>`. Report `months`, `first` → `last`, and the trend: growth over 12, 24 and 36
   months where the history reaches.
2. Always say which part is exact and which is rounded. Treat a `dealroom` month as ±5%: rounding, not a separate estimate.
3. If `dealroom.status` is not `accepted`, the history is only the recent months. Say so; do not fill gaps from another
   provider's visits. Semrush, Ahrefs and DataForSEO measure different things: Semrush has its own panel, and Ahrefs and
   DataForSEO cover Google search only.
4. For where the traffic comes from, use `similarweb.traffic_sources` (latest month), or `web/referrals?domain=` for the
   referring sites (Pro report, 6 months).
5. The current month is not available: Similarweb publishes a month after it closes, around mid-next-month.
